Our Monday 14 September 2026 meetup took us to Red Brick Market on Stanhope Street, Liverpool. The drawings move between café tables, market displays, signs and the surrounding buildings. Some focus on one object; others take in a whole corner of the interior.
Our sketchbooks bring together drawings, watercolour studies and details noticed on location. The gallery includes the work shared at the end of the morning.
About the place
The market sits in the Cains Brewery Village area. The listed former brewery was designed for Robert Cain and Sons and dates from 1896–1902, part of the industrial fabric that still gives this part of Liverpool its character. Historic England: former brewery.
