On Bank Holiday Monday 31 August 2026 we met at Cose Buone on Dale Street, Liverpool. The Municipal Hotel across the street provided a recurring subject, alongside window views, lamps and details around the café tables.
Our sketchbooks bring together drawings, watercolour studies and details noticed on location. The gallery includes the work shared at the end of the morning.
About the place
The Municipal Buildings opened in 1868 and originally housed Liverpool Corporation offices. Their clock tower, stone façades and rows of windows now belong to the Municipal Hotel, but remain a distinctive part of Dale Street’s skyline. Historic England: Municipal Buildings.
