Today, on the 13th of November 2023, the Downtown Sketchers embarked on a creative escapade at the delightful Rococo Coffee House in Liverpool for some urban sketching. Our rendezvous at Rococo was not a first, and certainly won’t be the last. This charming 1st/2nd floor coffee haven stretches the full length of the building, inviting us into smaller, snug rooms that exude warmth and artistic inspiration.
As the day unfolded, the weather displayed its initial charm, but the winds gradually picked up. Sensibly, we chose the comforting embrace of Rococo over the unpredictable outdoors. However, fueled by the invigorating coffee from Rococo, two intrepid sketchers couldn’t resist the lure of the world beyond those cozy sofas. They ventured outside, eager to capture the essence of the ever-changing cityscape.
After an hour of urban sketch fun, our urban sketchers returned to the backroom of Rococo for a “throw-down” – a vibrant showcase of a diverse array of sketches inspired by various themes. The talents and skills of the Downtown Sketchers were on full display, creating an atmosphere buzzing with creativity.
The Rococo proved to be the perfect backdrop for our artistic pursuits, offering a welcoming haven for our community to thrive. Whether you’re immersed in sketching or simply enjoying the company, Rococo is always a fantastic place to visit. As is it’s sister store Cafe Lucaya on Water Street, which will surely gain a visit from us Downtown Sketchers.
Looking ahead, our creative expedition continues as we plan to convene at the Liver Building “Relish” cafe next week, where an exciting exhibition awaits.
