On Monday 17 August 2026 we met at the Museum of Liverpool and sketched around the waterfront. The visiting Nao Santa María provided a subject for studies of rigging, timber, reflections and the ship’s bow, alongside drawings of nearby dock buildings.
About the place
The Nao Santa María is a replica of the flagship used on Columbus’s 1492 voyage. Built in Spain in 2018 by Fundación Nao Victoria, it visited Royal Albert Dock from 12 to 25 August 2026. Visit Liverpool: Nao Santa María.
